The Hermann Wulff has become the youngest boxship to have been sent for scrapping in 2016, according to online sources.
Just 10 years old, the Liberian-flagged 4 546-TEU panamax was owned by Erste RHW Schiffahrts.
Panamax boxships have been sent in their masses for scrapping this year as rates for this ship size in particular have faded away, reports maritime news service Splash247.com.
Prior to the Hermann Wulff, the youngest boxship sent for recycling to date this year has been 13 years old.
